The Championships Day 2 Review

Have you ever seen anything like it as Pride of Jenni rates SR 118 to make her a triple confirmed SR 118 in her last 5 with a eak of 121. What a star, I just love her..

R1 was the Listed Fernhill at a mile for the 2yo's where my advice was to stay put, $2.90 top pick Broadsiding was $3.05 into $2.3 before winning with 86/90 a new peak but by no means anything to write home about. His dominance was shown by the 77/78 of the runner up who was 2 lengths back.

R2 was the Listed South Pacific Classic and again my advice was to stay out which proved sage with the $12 winner Panic hard to find and a loser avoided is the same as backing an even money winner. 99/100 was a big new peak as he stepped to the 7 furlongs for the 1st time this time in and has obviously come on.  Runner up Razors was $8 into $5 and backed his SR 96 when 3rd to Gringotts at previous with 97/104. This Godolphin runner looks one to follow as does Port Lockroy, I thought it odd that he stayed at 1400m  but his 6th was much better than looked, home 22.3 which was the best in tehe race with 92/104 suggesting he is primed to peak 3rd up next start when up in trip. 3rd placed Rhythm Of Love franked his 98/99 last time in with 97/100 and also looks in for a good campaign.

HTF - Razors and Port Lockroy

R3 was the $1 Million Midway final and Territory Express was awesome with a devastating finish, we had him $4.8 off 114/114 first up and he was $5.8 into $4.40 before lighting up the clock again with 107/111.  He has Black type written all over him. We had runner up Strait Acer arted at the same quote and he was a value $7 with his 103/105 franked by 102/104 last time in. There is a race for him shortly. 3rd placed Shadows of love franked his 101/101 1st up  with 101/98. 5th placed Tavi Time was 2nd best home with that Xr 102 losing no admirers.

HTF - Territory Express

R4 was the G2 Percy Sykes for the 2yo Fillies and our top 2 ran top 2.with winner Eneeza running a career best 101/100  Slipper winner Lady of Camelot chased valiantly with 98/98 despite a big betting drift.  3rd placed Erno's Cube also ran a career best 95/97 . QLD'r El Morzillo coming off +6 ran 4th with 95/98 and anothe r peak. They are the 4 stand outs from this.

R5 was the G2 Arrowfield for the 3yo's at 1200m. The winner Joliestar has been good to us and I thought after ending last campaign with back to back SRs of 101 at 1400m and 1600m she may find this sharp. She was still my equal 2nd pick.  but she was excellent running a big 109/101 suggesting she is in for a big Winter in QLD. I was very suspect on runner up Hedged at 1200m, she had won for us first up but was up in trip off -7 but she matched the winner with 109/101. Their sectionals were dominant with the 3rd placed Libertad 103/93 Top pick and fav Ozzmosis was most disappointing with 100/89.

HTF - Joliestar.

R6 was the G1 Oaks, we dodged over bet and 3rd placed $1.65 fav Orchestral who was quite disappointing, rating her at $1.90  88/97 when3rd was well below expectations..Our 3rd pick Autumn Angel whom has been good to us  and coming in off XR's of 105 and 110 was rated $7.10 and she was $8 into $6 before a fabulous win for Peter Moody. 92/104 was +12 and she remains full of upside. VRC Oaks winner Zardozi who is another that has been good to us  chased valiantly for 2nd with 88/102 +14. They were the dominant 3 in the ratings as expected.

R7 was the G1 Sydney Cup and our $3.10 rated top pick Circle Of Fire coming off that outrageous 117/132 sat 3 wide the trip and still had 2 lengths on them rating 105/107. Did someone say Melbourne Cup?! We found the Tri in our top 4 with runner up Athabascan 97/100 just below the expected 101 and 3rd placed Kalapour, sticking on for 3rd rating 93/99.

R8 was the G1 Queen Elizabeth and it was one of the most astounding things I have seen in my whole life with super star and $3.50 rated top pick leading by 30  lengths entering  the straight  and won by 7  again smashing the clock with an SR 118  Runner up Via Sistina ran home a full2 seconds faster than here with 92/111 an excellent +18 but could only get within 6.5 lengths. For speed raters there is nothing better than a front runner that picks them and puts them down in front and she paid a staggering $5.50. A race we will never forget. The highlight of the whole Autumn

R9 was the G1 Queen Of The Turf and our $2.70 rated top pick and Gold Miner Atishu was $5.30 into $3.70 before charging for 2nd in a moderately run race. home in 22.1 for 91/100. The winner was 2nd pick Zougotcha with 93/95 nowhere near her best but still good enough. They were a class above the rest.

HTF - Atishu

R10 was the G2 Sapphire and we had 1 point between our top 5 and it was Wee Nessy on that 2nd line of betting with her  106/102 franked by a Heavy track 107  in G2 company last time in. Runner up was the improving Ballroom Bella with 101/94 bouncing back after a flat one last start after 105/103 2 back. We dodged unplaced Fav Red Card who was weak late wit 94/89. There was merit in the XR 97 of Miss Hellfire and the XR 97 of C'est Magique.

What a great days racing and we head to The final day of the Carnival with the G1 All Aged Stakes next Saturday and the G1 Champagne over a mile for the 2yo's. Just a head sup that those on the Autumn carnival package this Saturday is the last day. The Winter package will kick off in early May with th G2 Victory Stakes at Eagle Farm. More on that in the coming days.
