Flemington Review

The first of the Black type at Flemington was R4 the Listed Furphy for the 2yo's and the $1.80 rated Bold Bastille showed that 1000m was his go with a lovely display of speed 97/94 was rock solid with Drifting taking another step at start 2 with 94/94, they had panels on the rest and the only 2 to take out of this.

R6 was only a BM84 but I had to make mention of Another Wil who was smashed into 2's on by the jump and he toyed with them to make it 4 from 6. Following on from 2 big 3 length wins this time he won by 5 rating 109/117, those are G1 numbers we can follow him wherever they go.

R8 was the G1 Australian Guineas for the 3yo's and we did find the winner Southport Tycoon as an overlay following on from his XR 103 first up he showed he was a much bigger stronger beast this time around with 117/118 in a fast run edition. Veight 112/111 proved he is top draw, Riff Rocket was doing best work late for 3rd 108/111 on the back of 102/110 first up suggests he is in for another stellar prep when he gets to his favoured trips.  The one that may get under people's guards was the 4th placed Quintessa over from NZ who ran the same last 400m as the winner 108/111 after her XR 102 in a G1 4th at home the run prior. The numbers of these 4 stood out from the pack.

R9 was the G2 Blamey at a mile and top pick Atishu found absolute best 2nd run back 107/116 is franked by her G1 Myer 2nd where she rated 112/116. She will be absolutely primed 3rd up. Runner up Holymanz ran a huge new peak with 104/110, AYrton rock solid in 3rd with 103/109 and Makram proved the $151 win first up was no fluke rating 102/112. This will be a really strong form line going forward.
